Derrick Nault Joins the Global Studies Advisory Board

Derrick Nault, Ph.D. (History, Queen's University, Canada) is Project Associate Professor at the Center for Global Communication Strategies, University of Tokyo. He is the co-editor of Globalization and Human Rights in the Developing World (with Shawn L. England) (2011, Palgrave Macmillan) and Experiencing Globalization: Religion in Contemporary Contexts (with Bei Dawei, Evangelos Voulgarakis, Rab Paterson, and Cesar A. M. Suva) (2013, Anthem Press). His work has also appeared in such international journals as Asian Englishes (Routledge) and Left History: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Historical Inquiry (York University Press). He is currently completing a monograph in human rights history that explores the role African events, political figures, and peoples have played in shaping contemporary human rights concepts and practices from the age of the Transatlantic Slave Trade to the present. He is the Founder and former Director of the Japan-based Asia Association for Global Studies and Editor in Chief of the Asia Journal of Global Studies.
