Mauricio is an academic, designer and researcher for more than 30 years. Formerly a Director of Academic Program for design courses, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts (PUCC), a Master’s in Design (UTS) and his PhD research (WSU, ICS, candidate) developed a meta-modernist culture of learning. A new pedagogy of critical making, heutagogy and paragogy empowered participants to create design artefacts that mediated digital-physical user instantiations within contextualised spaces of codesign and coexistence. He has served Blue Chip and SME clients from ideation to adoption in advertising, architecture, curriculum modernisation, and design (e.g. communications, industrial, interior, management, product and system solutions). Particularly in new product innovation, he has worked in DFMCG (e.g. electronics, white goods), e-learning and online (e.g. development, distributed and mediated learning), HCD, HCI, learning, ICTs, simulation and visualisation (e.g. AR, VR, MR, XR), sustainability and technology (e.g. digital, medical).
