Book authors/editors and authors of book chapters can register for partial open access publication. Our open access publications are licensed using the Creative Commons license, “Attribution-Non-Commercial-No-Derivatives 4.0 International” (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). After completing these steps, you will receive notification from our editorial staff when your publication has been updated, making it free to download and licensed under the (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) Creative Commons license.

After completing payment for Open Access registration, you will download your personal copy of the Open Access Agreement. Your copy of the agreement will contain the terms quoted below as well as a brief form for providing your book chapter information and contact details.
Open Access Publication Agreement: Book Chapter
In conjunction with the terms of the Book Publication Agreement, this document amends the copyright terms to allow for partial open access of the book, this allows a specified chapter to be published open access. For a fee of $250 USD, a contributing author or editor can choose to make one chapter of the book open access by registering the chapter to be published open access (one registration per book chapter). Chapters published open access are made freely available in electronic format in Common Ground’s online bookstore.
Common Ground’s open access publications are protected with Some Rights Reserved as Public Licensed Material, available under the terms and conditions of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International Public License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). The use of this material is permitted for non-commercial use provided the creator(s) and publisher receive attribution. No derivatives of this version are permitted. Official terms of this public license apply as indicated here: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/legalcode. The open access option does not include publication in any commercial format; commercial use must be preapproved through a reprint agreement with Common Ground Research Networks.
