Change Note

If your manuscript is accepted by the Reviewers in Phase 2 | Peer Review, you will then be tasked with reviewing the provided feedback and making revisions. This revision process requires the proper completion of a Change Note. A Change Note template can be downloaded from the Documents tab on your WorkID’s page once the results of your manuscript’s peer review are released. Additionally, a message entitled “Change Note Instructions” will be sent to you and will include some of the information presented on this webpage. Failure to adhere to those instructions and properly complete a Change Note may delay the editorial review process and your article’s publication.

A properly completed Change Note must include each suggestion made by the Peer Reviewers in their Peer Reviewer Forms. To access the Peer Reviewer Forms needed to complete the Change Note, use the following link to get to your Current Works page.

On that page, you should find two tabs labeled "Peer Reviewer 1" and "Peer Reviewer 2." Click on both of the tabs to review the suggestions left by each Peer Reviewer. All of the suggestions from these Peer Reviewer Forms are to be copied and pasted into the Change Note in their entirety. Please expand each field on the Peer Reviewer Forms to ensure that you can review, copy, and paste the entirety of each Reviewers’ response.

PLEASE NOTE: We will not accept summaries of their feedback or AI-summarized responses to the Reviewers' suggested revisions in place of the copy-pasted responses from the Peer Reviewers. Additionally, the comments left by Reviewers in the manuscript itself via the Comment feature do not need to be recorded in the Change Note.

There are also sections in the Change Note in which you are to write your responses to each of the Peer Reviewers' suggestions. In those “Revisions Made” and “Revisions Not Made” sections, please describe what revisions you made and how or why you chose not to make certain suggested revisions. Once completed, you should upload your Change Note in a separate file along with your newly revised manuscript to the Documents tab by the provided deadline.
