Adding Digital Media

What is Digital Media?

Digital media includes any visual or audio material that forms part of, or supports, your contribution within a CGScholar event. It allows your work to be experienced alongside written abstracts and reflections, enriching how ideas are shared, revisited, and discussed over time.

All CGScholar Events are organised as hybrid Knowledge Experiences, bringing in-person and online participation together in a unified scholarly environment. Every accepted proposal becomes a Presentation Page on CGScholar Event (KX), where presenters can upload abstracts, Digital Media, and reflections in one shared space. These pages support engagement before, during, and after the event and remain accessible as part of a growing digital archive.

Digital Media may include recorded presentations, images, audio materials, slides, or documentation of practice-based and creative research. Media is presented in ways that support asynchronous viewing and long-term access, allowing delegates to return to contributions regardless of time zone or attendance mode.

Do I Upload Digital Meidia?

Yes. Digital Media is required for all delegates, whether presenting in person or online. Requiring media from every presenter ensures that all contributions are equally accessible within the hybrid conference environment and that the full program can be experienced beyond scheduled sessions.

For in-person presenters, Digital Media allows delegates who cannot attend a session live to engage with the work asynchronously. For online presenters, it provides a stable and accessible record of the contribution. Media may be uploaded before or after the live session, depending on the event schedule and guidelines.

How Is Digital Media Used?

Digital Media appears on your Presentation Page and is accessible through the event schedule and discussion spaces. In-person presentations, live online sessions, and asynchronous contributions are woven into a single integrated program, supported by shared access to session materials and ongoing dialogue.

Across all formats, the emphasis is on collegial, human-scale exchange—conversation, reflection, and collaborative inquiry—rather than one-way presentation. Requiring Digital Media ensures that every contribution remains available for continued engagement, reflection, and scholarly connection over time.

Main File Requirements

All delegates are required to upload a .mov or .mp4 video file of their presentation. This can take many forms: from a video of yourself presenting (a practice run for our In Person delegates) to a voice over a PowerPoint presentation, we encourage delegates to engage with this visual format.

Additional File Options

In addition to the main file, delegates are encouraged to upload other files to supplement their work. These file types include PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, PDF documents and mp3 audio files.
